Masters in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology
I graduated from the Masters program in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. The program is based on a transpersonal and contemplative orientation, which considers the interplay between psychological and spiritual approaches. The study of traditional approaches to counseling is enhanced by theoretical and experiential understanding of transpersonal concepts, as well as Eastern wisdom traditions. The contemplative orientation fosters the development of an attentive, spacious, and compassionate state of being that I intend to bring to every encounter—grounded and inspired by my own contemplative practice. I choose to study Transpersonal Psychology because in my view a holistic perspective of mental health has to include the spiritual dimension of human experience.

EMDR
I completed basic training in EMDR with the Parnell Institute, an innovative approach to working with trauma. Since 2020 I am also a  certified EMDR consultant and supervisor.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
I received Level 1 training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a somatic psychotherapy approach focusing on attachment, development, trauma and the body.

Diploma in Social Work
The 4-year full-time training in Germany, taught me to employ a systemic perspective, which means I see a person in the context of her or his life: resources, support system, work place, significant others or lack thereof. Depending on a person’s situation, I might include developing resources and support, skill building, and community aspects as part of the process.

Certification as Gestalt Therapist
I received my Gestalt Therapy training at the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies. Their intensive training combines theoretical concepts with an emphasis on attachment/human development and experiential process, which provides a unique and inspiring learning experience. Through each relationship with my teachers, therapists and fellow students, I have grown as a human being and a therapist. I stay connected with the institute, continue to receive in depth Gestalt supervision as well as training in gestalt couple's therapy.
